Was not sure where to put this one...but we are looking for an AuPair to live with us and help out with our 2 kids (4 year old daughter and 2 1/2 year old son). Everything (ie: food, electric, etc) paid as well as salary (under the table). Work basically 7am-4 or 5 ish Mon-Friday. If anyone knows someone (female only) 18-? looking for something like this let me know. Maybe a college student wanting to take a year off or something? We have a 3 story house and the entire 3rd floor is basically an apartment. Looking for someone to stay around 12 months or so. Non-smoker, Drivers license or no-license. We are located in Cincinnati. If anyone knows someone that might be interested PM me their info or have them call me at 513-615-4800

Use the Aupair service. They use foreign students on a work visa for 1 year. My brother had 3-4 Aupairs and they worked out great. I'll pull the link up here in a sec. It's not as expensive as you would think. You even get to meet & interview your nanny before they come over.

you call taking care of 2 kids 40 plus hours a week as taking time off? sorry but I had to laugh. darethea and I are taking care of our grandson ( just turned 1 ) and it is a full time job for us both just keeping up with him through the week( day and night). you'll be better off raising the age requirement to 40 ish. they will have the experience and the patience and the ability to do the job for you. best wishes on your search. bill and darethea

Appreciate the comments, but we've had an AuPair for 2 1/2 years, but she got married and moved to Dayton, Oh. Let me know of the service when you get a chance as our last 2 AuPairs were from family/friends contacts in Miami from Colombia.

    Here it is
Try to get one that has or can get a driver's license. You'll be amazed how it can come in handy.

I'll forward your post to my cousin in South Africa. She just recently returned from the US where whe did Au Pair work in Ohio. I know that she's looking for work right now too. Her name is Dominique.

Wife and I are both starting new jobs (we've both been full time in the house since Covid started) which are going to necessitate us being out of the house more often. Have three girls (9/7/3) who are going to need help getting ready for school and then after school (to/from bus, etc.). Debating between an au pair vs having a nanny come over from 2-8 every day.

Any insights or experiences, concerns, etc. would be fantastic to hear from people. I'm leaning au pair as that gives us the most flexibility (I'll probably be traveling to NoVa 1-3 days a week), particularly on the weekends. Downside is there's a stranger who's going to be living in my house and could be a complete psychopath who I'm stuck with for a year.

So you're saying do the 30 hour a week babysitter/nanny deal vs an au pair?
  12. What is an AuPair?

This might be the first time I’ve ever seen that word.

Is it like a babysitter that lives in the house with you?

  16. Hell I think I want one. I wonder if the wife would go for it. :D

She wouldn’t have to look after any kids.
Really wouldn’t even have to clean, I like cleaning. Wouldn’t have to cook either, we use the Eat To Evolve meal plan.

Hell, I don’t know what she would do. But it could be fun.

Well you could bring it up, but if your wife starts talking about Lorena Bobbitt, you might want to drop it at that point

I guess you could get a dog, so that the au pair you don't need can have something to take care of.
