So Rossi on a 1+1 deal with Petronas, maybe this is good since their engineers found something last year.

Rossi Champ in 2021 and then drops the mic at 10 and retires.

I guess this is the official thread.

Thoughts on this? Seems risky. Would be neat, but...

The bike isn't a complete heaping pile of shit. It's on the cusp of some decent finishes. If I were Joe, I'd go for it. If he gets results, its "and he did it on an Aprilia". If the results don't appear it's "yeah, but he's on an Aprilia". If he can achieve the first rule of racing and beat or stay close to his teammate it's a win/win for Joe.

Exactly. Win-win for Joe, may as well. He’s unlikely to get many opportunities to move into the big boys class, you should take the chance when it presents itself unless you’re already a shoe-in for a Yamaha or Ducati.

He just got the chance to move up to a solid, well funded moto2 and now, Aprilia is calling to mess that up.

Man, race in the premier class on a questionable bike or have a chance to win moto2 races and possibly a championship.

If the money/deal is right, he has to make the move. A good Moto2 ride might get him to MotoGP on a second tier team, eventually. He can go now, make some bucks, get exposure and maybe move up to a satellite team. Or, maybe the Aprilia is ready to be good. Remember that the KTM sucked until it didn't.

Aren't they German, or close to it? Germans always have a plan. Not always a good plan, but a plan nonetheless. Italians are more prone to waving their arms around and waiting to see what happens. Sometimes, that's better than a bad plan.
