"Shortening" Fork Tubes

    Is there any issue with shortening fork tube travel by adding spacers under the dampening rod? Im putting a set of cb750f forks on my cb400f and have picked up about 2" of length. This seems like an easier option rather than cutting them down or having 2" stick up from the triples. Thanks for any info.

    Forking by Frank will shorten them for you cheap and fast. It cost me $35 for my last set.:up:

    It is very easy to do and you do not even have to disassemble the forks. After removing the damper rod, just add your spacer(aluminum, PVC, Spring, or black oil line. The fork spring will need to be shortened as well, just make sure you take into account the flattening of the cut coil in your measurement. Tdub

    isn't that extra length pushing the triple trees up? that'll affect your handling quite a bit! Joe
