Thats what Brad said (a little bruised but OK) with maybe a few other explatives included after a last lap, of the last race crash  on Saturday at Nashville. I guess this makes two get offs in the 3 events or 4 races. Man!! What a wet race day. :(

Wayne, maybe the torch has been passed.

Last lap of the last race...OK, that blows goats...I'm trying to find another way to rephrase that but I got nothing...Goats, blowing, that's all I got...Hope he and the bike came out OK...

Yep, interesting racing for sure. First vintage practice was dry, next was WETTT. Lunch break was a early as the storm front moved in and it looked like this out side. [IMG] The minis had practice after lunch and then got severely dumped on later in their race, poor kids. For us V2/500GP guys we had a about a three hour wait until our race but it finally came. Pulling out onto the track I immediately ran into 3" off water and started aquaplaning, not good. Attendance for all classes was very low (shame on all you who didn't show) and V2 was just Upchurch and I. 500GP was minimal too. Race was very wet and I had puddles in my boots on the first lap. The new disc brake I fitted made for some very smooth and precise brake and the small upper fairing also helped a bit but not much. Race pretty much went down with no issues, I won V2, Steve got second. V1 was pretty much a carbon copy but with a guy McGrew/McGraw?? on a Triumph 500 crashing in turn 2 on the first lap right in front of Upchurch. Track was drying up fast but still very slick on the many sealer strips. Poor Brad Padgett, crashing just three turns from the end of the race, bummer. Jamie Brenton came home with a 3rd and a 2nd in 500 and 350GP, Donovan did great for having a sick bike, fellow Brit Robin came out on a beautiful Duc single and I think won 350GP as well as 250GP (only guy in that race). Tough luck award goes to Scott McCain, anything that could go wrong did but he still managed to podium somehow, amazing! By the time we packed up the sun was out and it was 75 degrees again, go figure!

Say, that looks like the rain that red flagged us in V3. Good to meet you Roy, hopefully next weekend will be a little better. But I doubt it. Going shopping for some rain gear this week. I don't think my leathers will be dry in time though.

Dean--thanks for the race report ; your brake caliper setup is nice--is that a off the shelf mount? Did the slider have to get machined?

Hey Brad--glad you're ok--what were you riding this time? I think you have the most experience racing completely different bikes in the same class....would really like to pick your brain on that sometime...

Charly, I pretty much copied what Hales is selling in the UK but with addition of a lower brace. Three 6mm bolts just seemed to make more sense than two. [IMG]

I had to shave a little off the inside of the lower fork leg for rotor clearance and also added a 6mm spacer to the disc so the caliper would not hit the spokes. I feel a whole lot safer now, that TD3 brake was trick but I had no idea how old the shoes were.

I would rather extinquish the torch than pass it, but whatever keeps my ass off the pavement. Apparently Brad is o.k. and I'm glad to hear that, wreckin sucks. How'd McGraw survive his mishap? See you next week-end.

No. I never had it for sale. I finally got it to run long enough to complete races so I promptly threw it down!
