Dude its absolute torture for me!!!!! An FZR750 is my dream FZR....................
beg or borrow the money.
not many once in a lifetime deals come up and price is very reasonable.
im not a Yamaha buff but if Fred Merkels 86 VFR 750 came up my be selling everything I have to get that bike or even Factory VFR.
As Mike has clean bikes almost to pretty to race.
somebody will snatch it because I posted on all my Facebook racing 80s sites
I’m trying reeeeaaaaalll hard to get away from vintage race bikes as it is............that’s why the rarity of a 750 popping up is torture
Mikes a great guy,and this bike is definitely a barn find! Ive talked with Mike alot lately, and this bike has a rich history.Ive lusted after this bike for quite some time. You wont find another platform like it for vintage racing.Mike has all the history, magazine articles to back it up!
Hell the dry clutch setup alone is worth what he is asking.
But the whole bike!
I'm sure it will find a home where it will be loved and cared for.
You definitely don't see the 87-88 FZR750R's come up for sale too often.
The tribute FM bike dB Customs built is just stunning. I’d love to have it.
Closing my eyes......I do not need this bike.......I do not need this bike.......I do not need this bike...........opened my eyes and still can’t convince myself I don’t “need”it
I have all the photos of that bike saved on my phone.
over the winter im going restore my 86VFR 750 back to race ready
but plan is to make it look like a HRC bike with some changes.
mine has Ram Air I built back in 03 when I ran V6.
but that bike is beautiful and well done.
Yes you do! Tell yourself its an investment and a collectors item.
Which it is and worth every cent.
I'm sure its not easy for Mike to let it go.
So it needs a new loving home to be cared for by someone who will take good care of her.
I would buy it to race it and give it an FZR loving home along with the other 5 or 6 400’s and 600’s.........gawd I lost count
Did you buy pigmans 750 from this site? I wanted that one.............like all of them
Damn, that's cheap. I wouldn't sell my dry clutch for $4k. The forks on that bike were four grand+ in the kit manual. Flatslides are $1k lately.
Be nice to see someone put bike together and show it off.
Bike has a new owner.
Thank you everyone
No. I had a 88 FZR750RU that I purchased brand new from a central Pennsylvania Yamaha dealer. Crashed and sold it to a Pittsburgh area racer around 1990.
I just picked up a 87 FZR750RT that Karns Performance shop offered to me since they knew I love my Yamaha FZR's.
Ah gotcha........similar boat but 400’s mostly. Once I get my hands on a 750 though, that will be the last FZR I buy...........
I have had several FZR400's... and enough parts to about fill a full garage bay!
I just recently parted with all of it when I picked up my 87 Yamaha FZR750RT and a 01 R1 track toy.
