No, not the valuable one! I've got a line on a 2001 and wondered if it fit into any vintage category. If not, any idea what class with the normal bikes. I know, RTFRB...but damn if those class areas confuse the hell out of me sometimes:(

I recently sold my 1999 750SS, but I'm still running my 2005 800SS in DSS and DSB when I can. I'm pretty sure that 800cc is the limit for air cooled twins those two classes. I think LWT is also an option if you wanna go against the SVs. As far as vintage goes, it would fit into V7MW if I remember correctly.

Take that engine and put it in a Cagiva Alazurra frame and run it in V4 or Middleweight Superbike in AHRMA. "Like design" concept is your friend.

Need a Cagiva Alazurra to work with . . . I have the market somewhat cornered, and can help, a lot.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I need this bike like I need a hole in the head since I just got my Skorpion back and it runs in damn near the same classes, but I've had a 2001 750 Monster for almost 20 years now and always wanted to race a bike with the 750 engine. We'll see.

I had been eyeballing that Skorpion when it was on Craigslist ... especially when the price dropped from $1200 down to $750:D.... but I never pulled the trigger since I already had a bike for those classes and just couldn't justify it ... very cool that you got your old bike back!

Thanks, and I appreciate the class advice. I just looked at a typical race weekend and the two bikes run in different enough classes that I could do both with no problem. I used to run my RZ and FZR400 the same weekend, no reason the Skorpion and 750SS wouldn't be just as much fun. Now I've got to see if I could get him down a bit on price:D

They run pretty well in SOT3 with AHRMA. They are cool bikes!
